Find the track built for where you stand
Everyone starts somewhere different. A brand-new gun owner and a ten-year patrol officer don't need the same class — so we don't run them through the same one.
The license track
Your Class G doesn't renew itself
Florida requires every armed security officer to complete a firearms requalification each year to keep a Class G license valid. Miss the window and you stop being able to work an armed post — usually at the worst possible time.
Alpha One runs that requalification year-round, tracks your expiration date, and reminds you before it becomes a problem. If you're not licensed yet, we start you at the beginning: Class D for unarmed work, then Class G when you're ready to carry on duty.

Classroom
Florida statute, use-of-force law, safety doctrine, and the reasoning behind every decision you'll be asked to defend later. Documented, and yours to keep.
Simulator Lab
Laser dry-fire simulation. Real mechanics, real repetitions, zero live ammunition — so mistakes cost nothing but a reset while the habits are still forming.
Live Range
Indoor and outdoor ranges across South Florida, plus a private range for scenario work. Live fire with a coach standing next to you, not behind a counter.

A 1:10 maximum ratio is a hard ceiling, not a goal. You get corrected while you're making the mistake — not in a debrief three drills later.
Your file, kept properly
Training records carry legal weight in Florida. Every course you complete is documented, stored, and available to you — not scribbled on a sign-in sheet that disappears.
Court-defensible instruction
Every technique is taught with the legal reasoning attached. If you ever have to explain your actions, you'll be able to articulate why you did what you did.

Frank Avila-Reyes · Founder
Who's teaching
Three decades before the first class
Frank Avila-Reyes enlisted in the U.S. Army at nineteen, served as a Combat Engineer, earned the Army Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge, and deployed on a humanitarian mission during the Cenepa conflict. He was a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security in 2001.
Since then he has protected critical infrastructure, private facilities, and places of worship — and brought every bit of that experience into the classroom. He still trains under instructors like John Farnam, Tom Givens, and attorney Andrew Branca, because he believes instructors who stop being students stop being useful.
